Summer School
Toric Geometry, Dimers and String Theory
21st-24th May 2013, Hannover
Toric geometry and quiver theory play a major role in a wide variety of algebraic geometry and string theory. The school will bring together mathematicians and physicists to learn the basics of toric geometry, toric singularities, quiver and dimer diagrams as well as some of their applications to string theory, such as dualities and string phenomenology.

The main audience will be graduate students and postdocs with more senior participants also welcome.

There will be four courses complemented by daily problems sessions; the lecturers will be:
  • Nathan Broomhead (Leibniz Universität Hannover)
  • Alastair Craw (University of Bath)
  • Sebastian Franco (Durham University)
  • Yang-Hui He (City University London and Nankai University)

Some partial funding for young participants is offered by the GRK1463 and by the Riemann Center. The deadline for applications is February 10th, 2013.

Registrations and submission of talks are now possible until April 15th, 2013.
